This product is used to determine the highest temperature at which rubber samples fail under specified conditions due to impact, which is the brittle temperature. It can be used to compare and evaluate the performance of non hard plastics and other elastic materials under low temperature conditions. The advantages and disadvantages of temperature and low-temperature performance.

3、 Structural principle
1. This equipment consists of a refrigeration compressor main body, heating device, electronic control box, cooling tank, cooling medium circulation system, automatic alarm device, and other parts. After activating the refrigeration switch, the compressor starts working and the refrigeration system enters the official working state. The refrigeration compressor works continuously, and when it approaches the set temperature, the heating device in the cooling tank begins to provide heat proportionally to balance the excess cooling generated by the refrigeration system, in order to achieve constant temperature. Stirring can continuously circulate the cooling medium in the cooling tank, making the temperature uniform.

3. Impact device
The impact device consists of an impact hammer and a self-locking mechanism.
4. Impactor
4.1 Sample A:
a) The punch radius is 1.6 ± 0.1mm;
b) The jaw radius is 4.0 ± 0.1mm;
c) The gap between the centerline of the punch and the fixture is 3.6 ± 0.1mm;
d) The gap between the outer side of the punch and the fixture is 2.0 ± 0.1mm
4.2 Sample B:
a) The punch radius is 1.6 ± 0.1mm;
b) The gap between the centerline of the punch and the fixture is 7.87 ± 0.25mm;
c) The gap between the outer side of the punch and the fixture is 6.35 ± 0.25mm

4、 Usage method
4.1 Inject freezing medium (usually industrial ethanol) into the cold well, and the injection amount should ensure that the distance from the lower end of the clamp to the liquid level is 75 ± 10mm.
4.2 Connect the power supply, and the temperature controller and timer display lights will turn on.
4.3 Vertically clamp the sample onto the gripper. The clamp should not be too tight or too loose to prevent deformation or detachment of the sample.
4.4 Press the gripper to start freezing the sample, and at the same time, activate the timing control switch (or press the stopwatch) for timing. The freezing time for the sample is specified as 3.0 ± 0.5min. During the freezing period of the sample, the temperature fluctuation of the freezing medium shall not exceed ± 1 ℃.
4.5 Pull the self-locking handle of the impact hammer, and the impact hammer will fall freely under the action of gravity, causing an impact action on the sample.
4.6 Remove the sample and bend it 180 ° in the direction of impact, carefully observing for any damage.
4.7 After impact (each sample is only allowed to be impacted once), if damage occurs, the temperature of the freezing medium should be increased. Otherwise, the temperature should be lowered and the test should continue. Through repeated experiments, determine the lowest temperature at which at least two samples remain intact and the highest temperature at which at least one sample fails. If the difference between these two results is no more than 1 ℃, the experiment is considered complete.

5、 Test standards
5.1 Specifications
A: A strip specimen with a length of 20.0 ± 0.25mm, a width of 2.5 ± 0.1mm, and a thickness of 2.0 ± 0.1mm
B: The length of the sample is 31.75 ± 6.35mm, the width is 6.35 ± 0.51mm, and the thickness is 1.91 ± 0.13mm
5.2 Requirements
The surface of the sample should be smooth, free of foreign impurities and damage. The finished product should be polished and cut to the corresponding size.
